The seven skills
Each scored 0 to 5 on outcomes that left a record, never on what you know, where you studied or what your title says. Once earned, a level is kept for life.

Add the seven scores for a total out of 35. Most scientists are a number. Vanguard Scientists have a name.

Checked, not claimed
Every claim shows how far it has been verified. The criteria for every level are published in full.
Self-reported in the diagnostic. Counts for levels 0 to 2 and your entry rank.
A link or document on each claim. Required for every published member rank.
An employer letter and two senior references, for confidential work. Up to level 3.
Checked by the Society at source. Required for levels 4 and 5, and the top two tiers.
The founding cohort
150 places. Applications open on 28 October and close at midnight on 7 November, and the close will be honoured. The founding cohort keeps its entry rate for life, charters the first chapters, and builds the Society's first course alongside Dr Ben Miles.
